I get to write an essay for my Japanese Religion in Art and Film class that compares and contrasts The Tale of Genji to Gundam Wing. It has to be mainly focused around religion, but in my teachers perspective "religion" is very broad. It doesn't have to be directly religious, it can be ideals that are common in japanese culture and have origins in religion. Like in Genji's life beauty was scene as very important, and this is as a result of the religious idea stemming from.. I think it's buhddism... living in the moment... (I.E. Trieze). Also Genji is always suffering because suffering is somehow important and Genji is sort of like Heero... so hot because he can fix his own borken leg.... ^_~
Anyways... anyone know any good sources I could use? I'm camping out in my room watching an entire marathon of Gundam Wing and writting notes ^_^ this is the sweetest homework ever!!!!!
That's another thing, I just wanted to do some obsessive jumping up and down and squea-ing amongst those who would under stand how insanely awesome this is.... EEEEEE!!!!!!! ^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^^_^__^_^_^_^_^_^_^ *runs around the room in circles babbling about gundam nonsense*
