Housecleaning Tips

Don't let your hidden messes surprise you when you have guests arriving or your mother-in-law comes for a visit. Instead pay special attention to these three areas that even experts often miss - glassware, cooktop coils and the clothes dryer. Prevent spots on glassware from ruining your evening or distracting your guests by removing spots and preventing them from coming back again. Make certain the water is hot, according to Orlando cleaning companies. If washing dishes by hand, you need to have the water as hot as you can stand it without burning your hands. Or use the highest heat cycle on your dishwasher. Cut back on the soap when trying to remove spots from glasses.  One reason that glasses and dishes get spotty is because overusing soap leads to a filmy or cloudy appearance to the glassware when it doesn't get rinsed clean. Rinse thoroughly with clean, hot water. When you rinse, the water should start hot and you should do a visual check to make sure that all the soap is removed before you dry the glassware. Once the glassware is clean and stains removed, use a clean, soft towel to dry the glasses inside and out. The coil burners on your stove are another area that can make your kitchen look less than clean.  Burners can become a mess of grease and burnt foods if not cleaned regularly. To prevent the smell of burning every time you turn on the cooktop, you should maintain the coil burners. Most coil burners should be easy to remove from the cooktop with a small tug where they plug into the main stove. If you aren't sure how to remove the burners, don't risk breaking anything. Instead read your appliance manual to determine how to safely remove the coil burners. Wash with soap and water. Use a small amount of dishwashing liquid and place it on a sponge. Hold the burner under a light flow of water and wipe with the soapy sponge. You might need a little elbow grease to remove any stuck-on food. Do not soak or submerge the burners in water. Remember that the plugs are electrical and could be damaged if immersed in water. If the food is stuck on and cannot be removed with just the soap and water, sprinkle some baking soda onto your sponge. The baking soda is mildly abrasive and should help you scrub. It has the added bonus of helping remove any odors that might be clinging to your burners. You may not realize that your clothes dryer requires regular cleaning and maintenance. Most people believe that they just need to clean the lint trap and the dryer will run fine for years. This might be true but your dryer will become less efficient and more hazardous the longer you go without cleaning it thoroughly. You should inspect and clean the exhaust duct on the rear of the dryer.

What cons are GWingers attending in 2009?

Thought it might be nice for GWingers to share what cons they will be attending this year... It's always nice to run into (and hug) fellow GW fanatics! I'll be at Anime Central (May 8 - 10) and Yaoi Con!!  I'm hoping the usual Gundam Wing panel will take place at Yaoi Con. Last year's was terrific!  *smiles* Artemis

Hey again...

On a more personal note, outside of the GW fandom, work laid me off last Thursday. I took it pretty rough, enough so that today is really the first day I've put forth a decent effort to go out and pound the pavement. I always wondered what Quat would do if something like this were to happen. Thankfully, my b/f and my friends have all banded together so I don't sink too far into depression. Let's hope that this will be a very brief stint among the ranks of the unemployed.

Directionless

Oh and I'm feeling Directionless yes But that's to be expected And I know that best And in creeps the morning And another day's lost You've just written wondering And I reply fast All you need to save me All you need to save me Call (call) And I'll be curled on the floor Hiding out from it all And I won't take any other call I feel like a fool So I'm going to stop troubling you Buried in my yard A letter to send to you And if I forget Or god forbid die too soon Hope that you'll hear me Know that I wrote to you All you need to say to me All you need to say to me Is call (call) And I'll be curled on the floor Hiding out from it all And I won't take any other call

POSTING! I TRIED IT XDD

Posted up my current WiP for you guys. It doesn't have any fancy italics or anything because of the finicky way the posty thing is going, but hey, at least it's words. There's Heero/Duo and Tro/Q for all, yay. Hope you guys like it, though it's highly doubtful considering it's hardly resounding popularity elsewhere XDD

Holey Schmoely! 61 Members already! O_o

I can't get over how this place exploded with activity practically overnight. Sorry I can't keep up, I've been sick really since AUGUST and I barely made Yaoi-Con in-tact without passing out. Let's just say Food and I are no longer on a civil relationship and as long as I don't eat I'm okay, if I eat it's just a nightmare so I spent that whole weekend pretty much food free. It's like I had a gastric bypass surgery without the surgery, Everything just sort of flies right through the tummy without a pitstop.

Anyway, sorry I'm not responding to everything, I can't keep up with everything. :( Checking the forum posts though and still trying to figure out WTF is wrong with the code.

Glad to see everyone enjoying the site so much!

*hits post, covers eyes*

So, there it is...

This fic started during one of Muskrit's Write-a-Thons. It holds a couple of personal records for me: Most words in a single story (3,053), and first lemon (*blushes*). Hopefully people like it? It was a lot of fun to write, at least. ^_^

burnt

Okay time to blog lol. IT'S TOO HOT IN THIS FRICKING STATE. I'm from North Carolina in the US and now I'm in Kentucky for college and it's about thirty degrees hotter here than North Carolina and I haaaaatehatehate it. So I'm hiding in my little room lurking around this site as my only source of refuge from the crappiness that is Mondays -_-. I can't wait to start reading the fanfiction posted here but sadly I don't have enough time to do it now before my next class, and then I have a volunteer meeting to see if I want to participate in the "First Book" volunteer group.... bleck. We'll see. Anywho...... I have officially blogged on gwingers. ^_^

Oh hello!

Well! This is new. My name is Nanthimus (call me Nan!) and I've been a fan of Gundam Wing for about....8 years or so. Uhm. It's actually been a while since I've really dabbled in the fandom but I'm planning to start writing for it and, well. I have my favorite pairings but I think I'm pretty open to all pairings (if it's het - besides Duo/Hilde - then I'm open but incredibly not interested).  My main journal is here but I think it might be fun to keep this one up. Maybe it will help me in my GW fanfiction writing process? XD

Stuff to post....

I haven't really contributed all that much to the GW fandom, sadly. ^^; What I do have will be going up here when I have time to clean it up. I've written two stories, both are 3x4-centric. One is fluff, one is definitely of the lemon variety ^^; And it's my first lemon ever. I'm going to run them through a couple of betas then they should be up here within a couple of days. :)
